SPICE UP YOUR LIFE

Did you know that you could be improving your health with every bite you eat.
If you're scarfing down cookies, that might not be the case.
This winter, add herbs to your diet.  You'll be adding flavor
to your fork and health benefits to your body.
Below are a few reasons to spice up your life!
 
 
Thyme
lower blood pressure, anti-inflammatory benefits, anti-cancer properties.
 
Spearmint
improving memory, enhancing cognition.
 
Rosemary
enhancing cognition (can pass the blood-brain barrier and even prevent the breakdown of neurotransmitter acetylcholine), supports digestive system, suppress allergic responses and congestion.  (Add this in before allergy season sets it!)
 
Cinnamon
lowers blood sugar levels, antioxidant activity that helps fight inflammation and lower cholesterol.
 
Sage
gets its name from the latin word Salvere, which means "to save."  improves brain function and memory.
 
Turmeric
strong anti inflammatory benefits, studies suggest that it can improve brain function and reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer.  (I'm pretty sure I will be adding this to everything.)
 
Ginger
helps treat nausea, pain management, anti-inflammatory.
